On 8 July 2026, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation issued a press release on Cambodia and Japan signing an exchange of letters on the provision of Japanese grant funding for the human resources development scholarship project.
His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister Prak Sokhonn, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and His Excellency UENO Atsushi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Kingdom of Cambodia, signed an Exchange of Letters and related documents on the provision of Japanese grant funding totaling 416 million yen (approximately 2.8 million US dollars) for the implementation of the Human Resources Development Scholarship Project.
